Pain, as a normal response to trauma, can often limit an individual's ability to function, especially when due to the combination of site pain as well as the pain of muscle guarding.

Active exercises can be exceptionally painful, while slow, controlled passive motion actually helps to alleviate pain through the gate control mechanism of pain control.

The BackPro uses a slow; steady, oscillating to-and-fro motion as the mechanism to provide the Continuous Passive Motion or CPM to the user.

This innovative CPM technique alternately stretches and compresses your spinal discs during therapy. You will not feel any type of pain with this motion, just the naturally gentle, slow, rhythmic action loosening tight muscles and releasing the pressure on the discs between the vertebrae. This may actually help to pull the "nucleus pulposus" (gelatin type substance in the discs) back into the discs and away from the sciatic nerves to relieve the rubbing and resultant inflammation.

After the initial set of treatments described in the literature, using the BackPro for fifteen minutes on a daily basis will help control your lower back pain and maintain the normal pain free life you are seeking. .

Proper pelvic motion to correct tilt and promote better ligaments is another feature of the BackPro. The BackPro will stimulate the pelvic area, hips and spine causing the lower back to expand and stretch giving a broader range of motion. Many people who have problems with their lower back have a tilted pelvis This is important because our lower back and pelvic region were constructed to maintain a even level, not tilt.

Creating a level pelvis means better ligaments, joints, and tendons in the back making you more comfortable. A tilted pelvis typically cannot be corrected by surgery. Our bodies were meant to be linear; therefore, if one section of body is "out of whack" then our entire body could suffer. A crooked pelvis can cause very painful, chronic back pain, scoliosis, hip joint arthritis, disc herniations, piriformis syndrome - a condition in which the piriformis muscle irritates the sciatic nerve causing pain in the buttocks.

Rehabilitation doesn't have to a painful process. The BackPro makes rehabilitation an easy, virtually pain-free experience enabling full range of motion in your back again.

Spinal decompression re-hydrates discs by stimulating oxygen, nutrients and blood flow to enhance the healing process. Spinal decompression normalizes fluid exchange inside the discs decreasing pressure, which also decreases inflammation. If the spinal disc is injured it will lose fluids at a faster pace then it can replenish causing it to become herniated and bulge out. A spinal disc can become dehydrated during the day when we are active. At night the disc absorbs fluids, which were lost during the day (intradiscal fluid exchange).

Spinal decompression therapy can help prevent degenerative disc disease - a cause of lower back pain in spinal changes that come with age. While technically not a "disease" it can take place in the spine but in most cases it occurs in the lower back. While we can't stop aging we can prolong healthy spinal discs and lower back.

Through spinal decompression therapy, the BackPro will help return the spinal disc to its original state. If you suffer from herniated discs, bulging discs, sciatica and nerve damage, BackPro spinal decompression therapy is your answer.
